My Love for Aunty BB and Beauty

Last month I lost my auntie BB. I didn’t take it very well. No disrespect to my mom but she provided a whole lot for me when mom couldn’t. She was there when I was having a hard time finishing college and she and her daughter were there when I didn’t have anyone else to turn to in loaning money for mom’s hospital bills when she had a stroke back in 2015. Man that sentence was a mouthful. I broke down at the airport when I learned of the bad news. Still in denial that she’s now with our creator.

Auntie BB knew how much I loved makeup. I remember those days when I barely could afford to buy lunch during college. A P150 ($3) eyeliner was a huge deal for me. I’m looking over at my makeup collection now and I don’t even want to calculate dollar for dollar how much all of this cost me (it’s ridiculous, I’m not proud of it either).  I remember her coming home from Malaysia almost a decade ago and brought me a bagful of makeup. They were drugstore, but even American drugstore brands are overpriced at the Philippines. It was a lot. I couldn’t sleep for few nights since I got them because I was busy playing with my new eyeshadows and lipsticks.

Men and women who are not into cosmetics may roll their eyes over how we go crazy when a new palette drops or when our hearts skip a beat when we pass by Sephora. It’s a feel-good remedy to a bad day when we put bright lipstick on, a sense of relief especially when your winged liner turned out perfect or when you’ve done a full face in under 20 minutes (lies) because you have to catch the CTA just so you’d be on time for that dreaded job interview. For me, a close family member is a part of why I love makeup.

Fun Purple Cat Eyeliner

Bored with the same old black cat eye? Me too! So here's a fun spin to the everyday eyeliner look! You can also experiment with blue and green tones :) I'm still trying to figure out ways to film better.

This video also teaches you a tip to maximize the use of your long-wearing liquid lipsticks into colored eyeliner shades :)

Current Skin Care Routine

Over the years of being into makeup, I've gone through a phase where skincare didn't seem important. It dawned upon me that makeup looks best with well-maintained skin. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy and admire makeup artists and enthusiasts around the world that have the ability to effectively conceal blemishes and discolorations. Which reminds me, I should venture into color correcting products since I have a dark under eye area. The point is, I want to wear as less face products as possible and want to achieve a skin-like finish when I do my own makeup. This post also serves as a mini review for each of these products :)

So without further ado, these are the products I use on a day to day basis as well as on a weekly basis. :) This might be a long post for some of you so get ready!

Product Review: Fashion 21 Duo Eye Enhancer

This is my first-ever product review! I'm starting to feel like a legit makeup blogger. :) Anyway, when I found out about Fashion 21's newest line of pencils through their Facebook page, and seeing that they had acceptable brow colors available, I knew I had to grab one for myself. Reading Lady Rattus' blog review about the product also made me want it even more. After checking the products out for myself, I chose to purchase the color Honey Blonde.

Bronzed Leaves Makeup Tutorial

Welcome to my blog! Err actually, It's more of inviting myself here. I have a Tumblr blog which I've ran for three years but it's not as interactive as Blogger. First of all, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Jessy Pearl, an Advertising student and freelance writer from Cebu, Philippines. I'm (obviously) a makeup enthusiast and I just want to have fun! So I hope I get to make friends, inspire others and get inspired by people as well. I am going to post my not-so old tutorials here as well.
